Neita Fran Ward
Neita Fran Ward, a native East Texan, is the owner of Valerosa Designs and Gallery in Tyler, Texas. Through her extraordinary talents as an artist, networker and leader, Neita serves artists, art collectors and the community with a passion to bring joy to all people through art. This passion shows through everything she does.
As an artist, Neita designs Southwestern jewelry. Neita began designing jewelry with Navajo Brian Billie in 2001, and since then her jewelry has been purchased by many national and international collectors.
As a networker, Neita connects artists with buyers and the community, and she does this through many channels – the gallery space, the Art Connection of East Texas radio program, websites, a mobile app, social media, and volunteers who help with all of these things.
As a leader, Neita is the President of the Bergfeld Merchants Association and host the Art Connection of East Texas (ACET) radio program on KTBB 97.5 in Tyler. From this platform, Neita is able to introduce and highlight artists, musicians, designers and even educators who each have their unique contributions to the arts culture of East Texas.
Neita Fran Ward holds a degree in Fine Arts with an emphasis in Interior Design from Stephen F. Austin State University. She has owned art galleries for over 20 years.
Terry Fowler started her long career as a Landman in 1978. In 1984, she founded Petro-Land Group, Inc., where she still serves as President. But she now also pursues art and other interests, including painting and representing Jan Barboglio products at Valerosa Designs & Gallery.
Her love of art and creativity began at a very early age when she discovered pencils, crayons and scissors. Then, in the 7th grade at Hubbard Junior High School, Terry was fortunate to have Gaylon Dingler as her art teacher. “Gaylon Dingler inspired me so much, and the creativity inside of me came alive,” she said. Today, Terry is both an accomplished painter in acrylics and a student of world class artist Kim Hill. Her favorite subjects are animals, especially dogs and birds. Terry also paints scenes from Africa based on her husband’s photos from their trips there.
Terry also loves designing home interiors with custom furnishings, fabrics and decorator items to create beauty in every room. Said Terry, “Patterns and textures are works of art in my eyes.” She frequently incorporates designer pieces by Jan Barboglio into her interiors.
Both Terry’s art and Jan Barboglio designer pieces are available at Valerosa Designs Gallery. Partnering with Neita Fran Ward, she also has other gift lines available at the gallery to compliment almost any interior space.
Terry serves on the Boards of Mission Sake (formerly El Salvador Missionary Fellowship) and Graceworks Counseling Ministry of Green Acres Baptist Church. “My missions emphasis is on serving those who serve,” said Terry. She also serves on the Executive Committee of The Phoenix Home Owners Association in San Pedro, Belize.
